This workshop will give you the opportunity to gain key barista skills that are highly regarded in the food & hospitality industry. Shot extraction, tamping, dosing, grinder adjustment and brewed coffee principles are focused on, along with texturing milk, coffee service and presentation. This workshop will give you the skills and knowledge required to safely handle food in a commercial setting as well as workplace food safety procedures including personal hygiene, housekeeping & waste disposal. Basic concepts of HACCP based food safety, cleaning & sanitising, personal hygiene, microbiological, physical & chemical hazards & workplace food safety standards are all covered in detail. Assisting customers to drink within appropriate limits, SA legislation & licensing requirements, recognising erratic drinking patterns 7 refusing to provide alcohol are all covered in detail.
