The Independent Institute would like to extend our congratulations to the participants of the Poultry Pre-Employment Training Program with their achievements so far.

We would also like to thank all the partners that supported this concept from the beginning, which include the management team of the Department of State Development (through the WorkReady Initiative by the Government of South Australia), Regional Development Australia and Local Employers in seeing that this program would assist them with a career in the poultry industry.

Chicken production is an expanding industry in South Australia with a growing need for staff at many levels of the industry. This program exposed the participants in the work health and safety processes of a workplace, follow site quarantine procedures, maintain production growing environments, maintain health and welfare of poultry and assist with feeding in a production system.  Skills to secure farm hands roles, and future farm managers one day.

A special thank you to the community of Wakefield especially the Mayor of the Wakefield Regional Council, Mr. Rodney Reid for his continued support.

This program was supported through WorkReady by the Government of South Australia
