Congratulations to our November class who completed their workshop component of the Certificate II in Food Processing (Sales) FDF20911 – Tailored as an introduction to Café, Sales & Barista at our Salisbury kitchens!

The four week workshop portion of the Certificate II in Food Processing (Sales) training program included hands on café quality product making, classroom exercises in food safety, communication and work health and safety, barista coffee techniques, specialty baking equipment operation, café practices and team building. Not only do we develop a students practical/technical skills in the field, we also increase their confidence and self-esteem to help students to feel ‘job-ready’ when they finish our course.

Students are also taught barista skills in great detail. After a few intensive lessons, students then practice their barista skills on a daily basis throughout the course making themselves and other students a coffee each day. This ensures that students have plenty of practice and leave the course as confident baristas!
